Hello! I will try & resurrect this long-lost site....& fill ya in a bit on a few happenings the last 2 months.......About the Green eggs & ham--the girls made that for their lunch today. I bought a Paula Deen kids cookbook earlier this spring, & they love (thats an understatement!!) reading thru it & make stuff! I don't let them try their expertise nearly as often as they would want!!
(not sure why I got it if I don't want them to use it??!...its kind of a hassle when they make stuff, & takes like 10 times longer.....................................BUT it makes them sooooo happy when they can cook!! )So, this mom is trying to loosen up a bit & let them have fun & just be little girlies! Anyways, it tasted good, if ya didn't see the color! (it had a drop of blue food coloring in it) Its kinda like that "green ketchup" a few years back, remember?!
(I never could get myself to like that ketchup!!) Here's what I'm talkin' about....
Now, going back to May....we've been enjoying our summer vacation since school is out; We went along on the Field trip to Chimney Rock--It was so pretty up on the top. The waterfalls were a pretty site too.
Kaitlyn & 2 of her friends: Destinee & Briana
This was our little group we were responsible for...
We bought one of those snugli carriers for Hunter-He was in his glory & lovin'it! =)
And then the Highlight of the year.......the school picnic & awards.
Getting ready to run.....I think it was the 40 yard dash
Getting their awards
Kaitlyn received awards for A-Honor Roll, Bible memory, & 2nd place (plaque) for Highest grade average! (98%) WE MISS YOU, MISS NAOMI!!!!
Also in May we celebrated Mother's Day...Danny took the girls shopping to get me a gift; they wanted to get me gardening tools, new gloves, & also some seeds (marigolds) & flower pots. They wanted to plant the seeds themselves. so they planted them, watered them & kept watching for them to sprout out! After about a week they came up....& now they are blooming so pretty!
They & Danny grilled lunch & gave me the whole day off! yaahhh!
I also celebrated another birthday in May. #38!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(I know....it about gives me a heart attack just to think of it!!!!!!!!
)
And then 2 wks ago we had a wedding in NC....we left a day early, got a motel & spent all afternoon/evening swimming! I wasn't sure how Hunter would do, but he LOVED it! We had to rush home from the wedding...Danny's Grandpa Marner passed away & the visitation was that night. So, it was rush, rush & still late! The weekend was very busy w/ family 'doings'...Danny's folks, & his sister & her family stayed here a few days.
Some of the things Hunter has accomplished/is doing since the last post:
*sits by himself
*starting to scoot around (yeah!!)
*sits up in bed (when supposed to sleep) then can't lay down by himself!
*loves to be tossed high in the air by daddy (giggles w/ delight!!)
*Does not like to be out in the heat (complains loudly!) (guess he gets that from his mama!!!!
) PTL for air-conditioning!!!!
We had corn last week. We picked it up after the school meeting & husked & cleaned it yet that night. I put Hunter to bed, & then got busy.......it didn't seem too bad. We had a corn-silker thingy that was just the ticket!! The girls loved feeding the corn thru....that thing saved us tons of work!!!!!
It was after 2:00 when I got out of the shower! Then the next day we cut it off....everything was in the freezer by 11:00, so that wasn't too bad I thought. I had 2 wonderful babysitters here to help out w/ Hunter! Thank you, Callie & Katie!!!
Fruit kabobs the girls made for snac the other week!
Well My brain feels fuzzy...gotta scoot! Hope everyone has a good week!
